The reopening of the caves implies the restart of our whole territory, whose vitality revolves around the strong pulling of the underground complex. We are realistic and we do not expect a flow that will bring us back to the pre-emergency seasons, but we consider it important to restart a sector that is already paying the consequences of the moment ». With twenty years of experience behind it, located a few steps from Ravenna and Rimini along the Statale 16 Adriatica at the height of Savio, Mirabilandia is a sort of city in itself, entirely dedicated to entertainment and fun, so much so that it deserved over time even the recognition of a real locality in the municipal area of Ravenna.

Ferris wheel amusement park
Mastodontic and easily recognizable from kilometers away thanks to the grandeur of some of its attractions, such as the highest Ferris wheel in Europe, this "land of wonders" attracts every season a flow of visitors and tourists settled in recent years around the 2,000,000 people. Since 1992, the year of its inauguration, the Mirabilandia park has undergone two changes of ownership, for a total of three different management companies, passing from the initial all-Italian experience first in German then Spanish hands, to which it has headed since 2006 with the Parques Reunidos, European leader in the sector and owner of numerous parks also in extra-continental territory. Park of records since the dawn, when it boasted the mythical

"Sierra tonante", a gigantic roller coaster with a very rare wooden structure, Mirabilandia appears in the "Top 15" of the most beautiful amusement parks in the world and is characterized by the extraordinary environmental context, rich in green spaces and lakes, in which it develops, near the centuries-old Pineta di Classe and in front of the Standiana basin, which is usually frequented by famous rowers such as the Olympic champion Sefi Ditto.

Spread over an area of 850,000 square meters, Mirabilandia amazes young and old with the double value of a theme park (divided into seven areas) and water (the latter inaugurated in 2003), for six months a year, usually from the week Easter in late October, just in time to celebrate Halloween. For some time now the subject of special and convenient offers that combine hotel accommodation at the entrance to the park for several days at truly unbeatable prices (with partner hotels in Cattolica too!), Mirabilandia is truly a destination not to be missed during a holiday on the Riviera! The thematic, mechanical and aquatic attractions are more and more numerous and in constant implementation. At the time of the "thundering Sierra", dismantled in 2008, that of the "iSpeed", the "magnetic launch" roller coaster, took over.

Everyone will find something to have fun in Mirabilandia, which between the thematic and aquatic areas of Mirabilandia Beach ranges from the most peaceful and "harmless" fun attractions to those capable of stopping the breath in the throat of even the bravest. Among attractions for everyone, dedicated to children or "extreme", there is really something for everyone! In this regard, it goes without saying that in such a "land of wonders" there is certainly no lack of spaces and facilities dedicated to catering, from bars to piadina and crêpes kiosks, from pizzerias to real self-service restaurants, up to McDrive for those who prefer to eat directly at the entrance or exit from the park in the area adjacent to the large parking area. Take all the time you need to enjoy the thousand attractions of Mirabilandia without haste, and book now a holiday including a visit to the largest Italian amusement park in the hotels in Cattolica affiliated with Mirabilandia!

Take a look at the endless attractions of Mirabilandia, and then run to try them!

The cave
The Grotta di Onferno, known since the 19th century, is by far the best known cavity in eastern Romagna. It is a hydrogeological tunnel that develops in an allochthonous block of macrocrystalline plaster.
Two small streams descend from the clayey slopes of Monte Croce which, upon reaching the chalky cliff of Onferno, converge and begin to flow for a short stretch underground. The waters resurface a little further downstream, inside a densely wooded ravine. The cave of Onferno extends along the entire hypogean section of the watercourse. First explored in 1916 by Lodovico Quarina, who described its morphologies and concretions, the cave is now largely practicable and a destination for guided tours.
In the first section, along the stream, you go through tunnels set along fractures with vertical walls shaped by the water in sinuous forms. Subsequently the typical calcareous concretions (alabastrini) of the chalky caves are met; the larger ones, of a bright orange color due to the presence of iron oxides, form a beautiful flow which decorates a wall with active concretising dripping. In the following section, the active level is abandoned reaching fossil environments where some rooms have expanded due to the phenomena of collapse. In the Quarina Room the vault is animated by mamelons, curious conical structures that indicate the base of a layer of plaster. The climate here is warmer and drier than the tunnels where the water flows. Continuing, along some surfaces you can notice the bright inflorescences of chalky crystals grown on the selenitic rock.
The site is entirely included in the perimeter of the Onferno Nature Reserve and in SIC IT4090001 Onferno. Once the name of the place was Inferno (from the Latin infernum: low and dark place, due to the presence of caves) and only in the early nineteenth century was it changed to Onferno by the bishop of Rimini, who did not want such a name in his diocese. Among the main activities were the extraction and firing of chalk, which lasted until the 1950s. On the top of the cliff, where the castle once stood, remains a small village in a beautiful panoramic position on the reserve and the surrounding territories: towards the north you can recognize the unmistakable profile of San Marino, further east the sea. The visitor center, located in the ancient parish church of Santa Colomba, is the reference point for guided visits to the cave and excursions along the itineraries.

Close encounters
Sharks, Penguins, Trigons and Jellyfish are just some of the many protagonists of this exciting path. The blue entrance is an immersion in the history and biological evolution of the planet: some tanks host species still surviving after millions of years, such as the great sharks considered living fossils. It is a journey around the world but under the surface of the water! From the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans to the splendid and colorful coral reef of the Red Sea, populated by colorful organisms. All the tanks of the Aquarium reveal wonders! The smaller ones recreate different ecosystems, rich in life and mystery. The Aquarium becomes not only a fascinating place, but an environment of observation and knowledge that allows man a greater contact with the marine world.

Shark tank
The protagonists of the Cattolica Aquarium are the Sharks that can be admired in the large central tank of 700,000 liters of water where bull sharks and nurse sharks live together.
The relationship between man and Condritti has always been balanced despite competition and fear. However, in recent decades many species have been classified at risk due to the increase in the human population, the technological development of fishing and navigation, and environmental degradation.
The characteristics that have allowed sharks to adapt to the evolution of planet earth are the same that make them vulnerable to the negative effects of human action.

Species at risk due to their threatened habitat, the Humboldt penguin species originates from the temperate coasts of Peru and Chile, where temperatures vary between –3 ° C to +24 ° C. The adult specimens reach 60 Cm in height and 5 Kg in weight and can live up to 20 years. They feed mainly on molluscs, sardines and Krill, which hunt within 30 m of depth and always remain in groups.
Sexual maturity occurs between 2 and 7 years and usually form a fixed pair throughout life. They normally lay 2 eggs which are hatched for 42 days by both individuals.
Aloo, Keema, Chapatti, Masala, Bahji, Tikka, Rogan, Josh, Lalla, Babba, Smoking and Yuki, the Humboldt penguins of the Aquarium, come from structures that deal with safeguarding and conservation. They can be recognized from each other by a colored ring.

Jellyfish, mysterious and fascinating organisms that none of us would ever want to meet if not visiting an aquarium, are 90% made of water and have a parachute-shaped body that reaches 40 cm in diameter and a series of stinging tentacles with who catch their prey. In the first four portholes you can follow the life cycle of the Four Leaf Clover Medusa, very common in the Mediterranean. This jellyfish has a soft, gelatinous cup-shaped umbrella, the edge of which appears frayed due to the presence of numerous and short hollow tentacles.
In the last porthole the jellyfish Cassiopeia andromeda, which lives resting on the sandy bottoms of the sea depths and wanders silent without being able to defend itself, because it has no stinging tentacles.

The tactile tub
The Touchpool, or tactile tank, houses several organisms of which the largest are the Trigoni or Dasyatis violacea - so called for their brown-violet coloring tending to black - which can reach a width of 80 cm and a maximum length of 190 cm. The stingrays also live in the Adriatic Sea, feed on jellyfish, squid, crustaceans and fish and, like their relatives sharks, have a cartilaginous skeleton.
Some stingrays housed in the tank were born in the Cattolica Aquarium. Thanks to their docile nature, the public has the opportunity to caress them quietly, under the eyes of the experts, while paying attention to the mouth and tail. In fact, at the end of the tail they have a poisonous sting which is used in case of defense. For safety reasons, the spike is periodically severed in an absolutely painless way.

... and then the YELLOW ENTRANCE - GREEN ENTRANCE - PURPLE ENTRANCE all to be discovered:
Oltremare di Riccione is a theme park inaugurated in 2004, dedicated to the marine world and the wonders of nature. With an area of 100,000 square meters, the park offers interactive, educational and fun experiences with educational itineraries inspired by Air, Water, Fire, Earth and Energy.

In the Valley of birds of prey, however, you can admire eagles, owls, hawks and vultures and discover their qualities. While on the Oltremare farm, you can watch the Rainbow Flight of the parrots of the forest, including the red and green macaw, the blue and yellow macaw and the sun conures.

For the most reckless, there is the Delta Adventure Park, an adrenaline-filled path among the treetops on suspended lianas and Tibetan bridges.

Oltremare is suitable for the whole family. Each year it offers an exciting musical in the Oltremare Theater, which offers over 500 seats and a maxi screen of 600 m2. Inside the park, you can also find many dining, shopping and a picnic area in the Delta.

The park also has a wave pool, where all the main events and animation activities take place. The pool has an area of 2800 m2 and a maximum depth of 3 meters, and every hour, to the sound of a bell, it is filled with fun waves generated artificially.
